A Circle Tied to Mother Earth Booklet
Description
Item Number: SA3578
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health developed this book with Native American communities in Massachusetts. This series of stories and poems explores the ways Native American traditional values can help prevent youth drinking and other drug use. While it resonates with Native American students, one of the keys to preventing addiction can be for all people to look at teachings that have existed for thousands of years. The images from Native American communities are interwoven with the LifeSkills Training© concepts in an easy-to-use format. It includes guidance for positive discussions, as well as referral resources for counseling for youth and adults if needed.
*Note: A Circle Tied to Mother Earth is a Supplement to the LifeSkills Training and will not replace any of the other LST materials. A one-day training is required to use this Supplement. Please visit http://www.cvent.com/d/74q78p/6T for information on free trainings, and to complete the required registration. Both Elementary and Middle School Trainings are listed there.
