Natives in Massachusetts are community members who are embracing their healing while keeping their culture alive. Recognizing Positive Native Identity as a key to wellness, Native Tribal Members, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, created Our Culture, Our Health: Lifting Up and Uniting Voices of Native Peoples in Massachusetts. This photo essay booklet celebrates Native identity and culture and promotes wellness. Content and photography in the booklet reflect the voices of Native peoples and highlight celebrations and cultural approaches. These include health services and promotion, as well as prevention programs, including substance use counseling, treatment, and recovery.
